27 Paintings in 27 Days: A Journey of Creativity, Memory, and Gratitude

At the beginning of April, I set out to honor my mom by creating one painting every day leading up to her birthday on April 27th. It was a personal project, rooted in love and remembrance—but what I didn’t expect was how much it would move me creatively, emotionally, and even physically (I painted in more hotel rooms than I can count!).

And now, 27 days later, the project is complete.

I created 27 unique paintings, each one a small reflection of where I was, how I felt, and what I had to work with that day. Some were made between meetings, others in the quiet of early mornings. I used acrylics, nail polish (my new favorite surprise medium!), and even makeup when I needed to improvise.

Each canvas is imperfect and honest. Some were spontaneous, some planned. Some joyful, some heavy. But every one of them carries heart.

This project reminded me that art doesn’t need to wait for the “right” moment. It happens in the cracks of a busy life—if we let it.

To everyone who followed along, cheered me on, or even just glanced at a post: thank you. Your encouragement helped carry me through this journey. It was intimate, messy, and healing—and sharing it with you made it even more meaningful.

I'll be sharing the full collection soon on my Instagram and website. I hope you’ll take a moment to scroll through the series and maybe even find a piece that speaks to you.

Thanks for walking this creative path with me.

With gratitude,

Samara
